The opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, SOX Compliance, this Senior Analyst position is located in Montreal. The candidate will be primarily responsible for ensuring that IT general controls (ITGC) and applicative controls (ITAC) are in place and operating effectively to support our annual SOX certification and assist with various special projects within the SOX Compliance group.

 

The role 

  • Responsible for maintaining processes, risks and controls documentation for key IT processes.
  • Participate in overall scoping & risk assessment process and assess impact of developments in the business on IT general controls over Applicative, Operating System, and Database layers.
  • Responsible for planning and executing ITGC and ITAC testing of design and effectiveness, as well as SOC report reviews. 
  • Identify control design and performance issues and support process owners with impact assessments, relevant lookback procedures, and remediation plans for such issues.
  • Support the external IT audit process. 
  • Participate in special projects (including SOX readiness mandates, access reviews, and various Internal Audit mandates).
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and assess the impacts on our SOX compliance program, and ensure new requirements are communicated to relevant stakeholders.

The requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology related areas. 
  • CPA, CA designation, CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) would be considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm or public company, demonstrating work experience in IT audit and internal controls;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French; working knowledge of Spanish is considered an asset;
  • Experience with AS/400 and JD Edwards considered an asset;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365) and ability to use data query tools;
  • Can perform tasks independently, yet capable to work in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and able to work under pressure and perform under tight deadlines;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics;
  • Ability to implement new processes and work efficiently;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving and growing environment;
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational & analytical skills;
  • Demonstrate ability to use data query tools;
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills; 
  • This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
