The opportunity

The Finance Assistant works closely with the Accounts Payable, Credit, Treasury and Inventory Control Departments to ensure all transactions adhere to company policies (SOX controls) and International Financial Reporting Standards. 

 

The role

  • Perform the daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for the required Gildan bank accounts across the Barbados managed companies.
  • Prepare the Financial Analysis Binders and the Journal Entry binders for all Barbados managed companies (SRL, Gildan Activewear USA, Holding Companies and International Companies).
  • Prepare and enter journal entries in the ERP system (E1) and SharePoint for the Financial Reporting, Treasury, Accounts Payable and Transportation and Logistics departments.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure that balances match between entities monthly (20-25 reconciliations) across the Barbados companies. 
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss schedules across the Barbados managed companies.
  • Assist the Financial Analyst and Senior Analyst with support schedules for the Quarterly Financial Reporting Package.

The requirements

•    A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related discipline
•    A minimum of one (1) year's experience in an Accounting environment
•    Good organizatinal and time management skills.
•    Ability to work well under pressure.
•    Detail oriented.
•    Ability to take initiative and be proactive in resolving an issues encountered.
•    Ability to meet strict deadlines.
