The opportunity

The Sr. Manager Merchandising will play an integral role in managing the seasonal retail and core wholesale product line development process. The role involves developing assortment frameworks and consumer centered product briefs that address their deep understanding of the target consumers, specialty channels and competitive set. This position sits in the Product Department, reporting directly to the Director, Merchandising and Product Development.

 

 

The role 

  • Provide briefs and frameworks which give clear product direction and information to development and design partners.
  • Manage and execute to designated calendar milestones from design brief to product launches.
  • Initiate creative briefs and manage all aspects of go-to-market activities for category from sell-in through in-store/online. 
  • Provide clear direction on all financial drivers to meet margin requirements set by activewear leadership.
  • Manage seasonal costing to ensure margin goals are met. 
  • Analyze product line performance inclusive of add/drops, sell-in, sell-through, and monthly POS data.
  • Lead new and innovative ways of working including 3D, virtual product, social media.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design, Apparel Merchandising, Product Development or a related discipline.
  • At least 15 (fifteen) years' experience in the activewear industry.
  • Creativity and passion for product.
  • Embrace a challenger brand mindset.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Able to create consensus, influence and work collaboratively.
  • Critical attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Develop and manage an effective working relationship between design, tech design, product development, sales, and marketing to effectively plan new product line introductions.
  • Drive SKU/Style productivity goals and manage the inventory lifecycle from creation through disposal.
