The opportunity

To provide all aspects of development support during the sampling process to vendors, ensuring requirements are achieved. To ensure all material development within timeframe & ensure maximum support to the Business Unit for all development aspects from inquiry receiving to before bulk production starts.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • To source all types of fabrics and trims for product development.
  • To support Sample, Color Lab dip, Packaging Development & ensure all are correct before bulk production starts.
  • To quote price and negotiation with Vendors to achieve Target provided by business unit.
  • To Interact with global PD team to get all required approval within Timeframe,
  • To follow up Material & Product testing and set std. at development phase.
  • To analyze Vendor Product capability for the right allocation of product development.
  • To prepare TNA for any submission to meet potential timeline from customer.
  • To collaborate in all development issues with cross-functional Team.
  • To work for Re-source Project & find alternative vendor option.
  • To work with internal system (PLM, VI, & etc.) and carry out additional duties or special projects that are assigned by line manager/management.

Profile & Core Competencies

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering from a reputed public or private university with a minimum of 03 years of experience.
  • Solid experience in product development role in fashion industry.
  • Experience in both factory & sourcing office of Knit/Woven merchandising in Activewear, Outerwear category will get preference.
  • Able to communicate with local and foreign vendors as well as global product development team independently.
  • Clear concept of Product development process, knowledge on Production process will get additional value.
  • With knowledge on all material (especially all types of Knit Fabric), product cost factors & costing, global market trends.
  • With clear idea about all material Testing & quality parameter.
  • With knowledge on garment trims & packaging development e.g. zippers, buttons, labels, boxes, bags etc.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Good PC skill in Microsoft Office.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
