The opportunity

The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including payables and general ledger activities. The role primarily focuses on overseeing the full intercompany processes while providing support within the Accounts Payable function. This position sits in the Accounts Payable Department and reports to the Manager, Accounting, Corporation and Financial Reporting.

  • Validate and process invoices using Scanman. 
  • Perform purchase order (PO) matching for IT purchases, services, and freighting.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable mailbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries.
  • Initiate vendor requests for new vendor setups or changes to existing vendor information.
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and ensure accuracy of related transactions.
  • Enter data for journal entries related to Accounts Payable activities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of vendors, approvers, and general ledger (GL) accounts.

The requirements

  • A Degree in Finance or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two (2) year's experience in an Accounting environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and the ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail.

  • Able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and growing environment.

  • Can perform tasks independently, yet capable to work in a team environment.
