The opportunity

The Accounting Manager is responsible for accurately recording, reporting, and analyzing business transactions. They will work closely with the Controller and other finance teams, to ensure that effective accounting processes and controls are in place to accurately and timely accumulate, record, and report financial information.

 

The role

  • Prepares and/or reviews monthly journal entries to record transactions and adjustments in key ledger accountsRecords intercompany charges as needed and balances intercompany accounts each month, maintaining communications within/between accounting departments.
  • Identifies and lead efforts to develop and implement accounting process improvements within, or impacting, the Corporate Accounting group.
  • Responsible for maintaining fixed assets subledger and related tracking and reporting on capital asset activities and projects.
  • Recognition of new/changing business activity and determination of any new/revised accounting for the related transactions/events.
  • Ensures the overall accuracy of key ledger accounts including but not limited to cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, other assets, accruals, leases, fixed assets, revenue, and intercompany accounts.
  • Manages the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of financial results to meet internal/external requirements.  
  • Supports accounting functions including preparation of monthly balance sheet review documentation, monthly supplemental schedules, quarterly/annual financial roll forward schedules and supports compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley key controls.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance environment.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in managing teams.
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred.    
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and handle a high volume of tasks under time constraints.
  • Experience using ERPs, accounting applications, and BI tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills including Excel PivotTables and Formulas (V-Lookup, etc.).
